Special design for Google logo in 8th February 2011

Jules Vernes' birthday marks the first interactive Google doodle (an artistic twist to Google's corporate logo) of this year. Visible on the search engine's home page, the Jules Verne birthday Google doodle commemorates the science fiction writer's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea novel -- the Google doodle gives a view of the sea through a submarine's potholes.

February 8 marks the French sci-fi author's 183rd birthday and the current interactive Google doodle pays tribute to a popular novel from Jules Verne -- 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Google's corporate logo is morphed into Nautilus's potholes, in the Jules Verne Google doodle, giving you a glimpse into the sea.

The current Jules Verne Google doodle is also an interactive Google doodle -- like past Buckyball doodle, Pac-man doodle and HTML5 balls doodle. There's a lever on the side of the Google logo which can be swung left, right, top, and bottom to direct the submarine and explore the depths of the sea. Make sure you check out the Jules Verne doodle on Google's home page.
